Description
My client, a leading Investment Management firm, has an opening for a Finance Analyst with experience in Financial Services to join their Group Finance function on a long term rolling contract. The role reports into the UK finance function and with another cashier, is responsible for the cashiering activities for the UK and Irish entities.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibility for corporate payments
Ensuring payment requests are completed accurately in line with documented procedures
Inputting payments into banking system
Arranging appropriate authorisation
Inputting all cash transactions into ledgers
Preparation of a daily cash-flow forecast
Preparation of monthly bank reconciliations
Reviewing the daily cash balance and daily transactions
Maintaining bank ledgers and ensuring all bank transactions are entered accurately and on a timely basis
Petty cash reconciliations
Maintaining relationship with main company bank, treasury department, accounts payable Dealing with payment related queries from the business
Ad hoc cashiering responsibilities
Develop an understanding of other business areas particularly those interacted with on a regular basis
Experience and Qualifications
Essential skills
Previous work experience in accountancy and cashiering dealing with cash and bank accounts
Attention to detail and high degree of numeracy
Organisational skills
Strong customer service ethos, a commitment to quality and the will to constantly drive improvements
Personable with good communication skills
Ability to work well under pressure and to take initiative to escalate issues as appropriate
Desirable skills
Accounting qualification
Experience in a financial services environment
A-Level (or equivalent) standard educated
Good Microsoft office skills
