Description:
Responsible for performing functions carried out by the operational unit, demonstrating a sound understanding of many functions in the unit, The Operations Specialist II is considered an expert on a subset of functions within the unit. In addition to the responsibilities noted, the role will also have functional responsibilities specific to each unit
Major functions:
Provide payoff quotes for mortgages, installment loans and consumer lines of credit products.
Process payoff transactions for mortgage, installment loans and consumer lines of credit products which includes releases, discharges, and sending out payoff letters.
Perform a variety of daily customer service activities including late charge waiving, ATA exception and kickouts, NSF payoff checks, billing record changes and adjustments.
Handle internal and external phone calls related to residential and consumer loan products and functions, and using research and problem solving abilities to obtain the correct answers.
Process daily work; maintain compliance with rules and regulations, with attention to bank policy, procedures and regulatory deadlines.
Ensure that assigned workload is completed within all deadlines and SLAs. The associate would have a high skill level on many functions and job processes within the operational unit.
May help to ensure department procedures are written, available, and current.
Work well within a team and help to create a positive team environment.
May assist other staff in solving internal and external customer issues.
Troubleshoot and resolve problems, ensuring management is in agreement with non-routine resolutions.
Recommend changes or alternate ways in processing methods to allow improved operating efficiency and service levels.
Work collaboratively with other areas of the bank.
Maintain integrity of reporting and documents per my assigned functions.
May assist on special projects
May be involved in acquisitions and divestitures as needed.
May assist in training of other team members.
Must adhere to pertinent laws, regulations, First Niagara's Compliance Policy and external compliance requirements; including SOX Key Controls.
Other duties and assignments as required by management.
Sound Computer Proficiency
Education/Experience/Licenses etc.:
Some college/university experience or Associate degree preferred
Minimum 1-3 years of Customer Service experience
Minimum 1-3 years of Banking Operations experience preferred
Must be able to work flexible work schedules, including weekends and holidays. Business travel may be required.
