Description:

  • Process daily work; maintain compliance with rules and regulations, with attention to bank policy, procedures and regulatory deadlines.
  • Ensure that assigned workload is completed within all deadlines and SLAs. The associate would have a high skill level on many functions and job processes within the operational unit.
  • May help to ensure department procedures are written, available, and current.
  • Work well within a team and help to create a positive team environment.
  • May assist other staff in solving internal and external customer issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems, ensuring management is in agreement with non-routine resolutions.
  • Recommend changes or alternate ways in processing methods to allow improved operating efficiency and service levels.
  • Work collaboratively with other areas of the bank.
  • Maintain integrity of reporting and documents per my assigned functions.
  • May assist on special projects
  • May be involved in acquisitions and divestitures as needed.
  • May assist in training of other team members.
  • Must adhere to pertinent laws, regulations, First Niagara's Compliance Policy and external compliance requirements; including SOX Key Controls.
  • Other duties and assignments as required by management.

Education/Experience/Licenses etc.:

  • Transaction monitoring and Customer Service Experience Required. Experience in the Financial Services industry or education in Criminal Justice strongly preferred.
  • Some college/university experience or Associate degree preferred
  • 1-3 years Residential Mortgage Experience: Escrow and/or Originations preferred
  • Minimum 1-3 years of Customer Service experience
  • Minimum 1-3 years of Banking Operations experience preferred
  • Business acumen - banking processes and procedures, including G/L accounting
  • Problem solving/analytical skills
  • Sound decision making ability
  • Priority setting and time management skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Good communication skills - written and oral
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Sound Computer Proficiency

Additional Job Requirements

  • Monitor foreclosure actions and attorneys. Monitor and order property preservation.
  • Assist foreclosure manager with documentation, reporting, investor reporting and claims and REO's. Prior foreclosure and/or banking experience is required.
