Job Description Overview
The central accountant role, based out of the international headquarters in Reading, UK, is a key accounting role that covers the International cash flow statement, the EMEA Central Accruals, the EMEA Capital leases and the EMEA US GAAP adjustments.
Principle Activities and Responsibilities
- Prepare the monthly International cash flow statement by day 7 and report to senior finance management
- Responsible for the EMEA Central accruals - including calculation, posting of journals and reconciliation
- Responsible for the EMEA Capital leases - including calculation, posting of journals, reconciliation and reporting
- Responsible for the EMEA US GAAP adjustments for Excess Facilities, Dilapidations and Unfavourable leases - including ongoing maintenance/calculation, posting of journals and reconciliations
- Prepare the monthly International FX for cash flow analysis
- Report the quarterly EMEA FX for cash flow analysis to US Head office
- Prepare the monthly EMEA Long term liabilities schedule
- Prepare the monthly EMEA Provisions schedule
- Responsible for the SOX EMEA Central close process and act as evaluator for the SOX EMEA Local close process
- Prepare the monthly late adjustment log as part of the EMEA Central close process for SOX control purposes
- Provide general support and assistance to other members of the international general accounting team as required
- Perform ad hoc activities as identified by senior management related to international accounting and other integration projects
The Individual
- Strong computer skills utilising Microsoft Office, especially in Excel and PowerPoint
- Proficiency with global accounting software ERP packages, preferably SAP, and analytical tools such as Hyperion Essbase (Desirable)
- Professional accounting qualification/newly qualified/finalist - ACA, CIMA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent
- Experience of working for a large multi-national group, preferably in the Telecom, Data centre, Networks, IT or Technology sectors
