Internal Online Communications Manager: Global Oil Company

World Leading Global Energy Oil Company has an exciting opportunity for an Internal Online Communications Manager to manage 3 people within the digital leadership team for Global Retail and Lubricants Marketing, Global Commercial Sales and Key Accounts.

Although this role involves internal communications, it would suit someone looking to get a deeper understanding of how a Marketing function operates, working with some of the world's leading brands in the category.

Accountabilities

  • Designing and developing Intranet content and collaboration spaces that facilitate smarter working
  • Consulting on and developing bespoke SharePoint applications that will add value for the business
  • Tracking and reporting channel use against a set of success measures, number of views, number of subscribers to news channels, number of video plays etc
  • Organising virtual learning sessions to train global audience on collaboration tools -

Other Activities

  • Helping to maintain knowledge management channels; asset repositories, internal wiki etc
  • Producing professional looking presentation material

Experience and Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level preferably with study in communications, marketing or online
  • 3-5 years working in Marketing or Communications function for a large organisation
  • Intranet and/or Internet publishing experience (SharePoint ideal)
  • Good understanding of online communication tools ( intranets, wikis, social media, etc)

Key Competences

  • Excellent communication, writing and project/stakeholder management skills
  • Strong attention to detail, confidence and ability to proactively get things done
  • Knowledge of SharePoint for Intranet (essential)
  • Experience of using Yammer or similar corporate social media platform (desirable)
  • NewsWeaver - internal email - will be of particular benefit as this will be utilised in future
  • Integrated communications including on-line skills such as Video and Intercollaboration
  • A creative and innovative self-starter, resilient and able to work both autonomously and as part of a team

This needs combining with a positive attitude and an ability to work within a large, globally dispersed project team in a multi-cultural environment. You also need to be a self-starter, a logical thinker and a quick learner, with strong initiative and excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, able to write clearly and concisely.
