Position Title: Finance Manager

Position Description:

Strategic Projects Manager the Corporate Strategy Office has functional experts and strategic thinkers from across the business and the wider industry and consulting that help drive and challenge the business to achieve its ambitious goals. The team's vision is The Corporate Strategy Team drives the business towards achieving its aspiration by partnering the CEO & Senior Directors and other stakeholders to identify, interpret and evaluate opportunities and risks, and to develop and implement the corporate strategy. The role will support a wide-variety of projects which will vary subject to the demands of the CEO, Senior Directors and business needs. All roles on the team involve a high degree of exposure to the Senior Directors and other senior stakeholders. The successful candidate has to be comfortable working with ambiguity, managing diverse stakeholders and operating under fluid and tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and own key strategic projects/work streams; from scoping to delivery and including cross-functional engagement and stakeholder management
  • Undertake strategic and financial analyses; including project appraisals to assess their viability and impact on the business
  • Undertake/support scenario planning
  • Develop strategic reports to support decision making. This will include making recommendations to the Board against agreed criteria
  • Developing commercial solutions to support the negotiation of transactions

Skills Required:

  • Degree qualified (Economics, business, engineering, law) or relevant further qualification
  • Financial and strategic acumen
  • Stakeholder management

Experience Required:

  • Demonstrable skills would include fact finding/analysis/synthesis, storyline and presentation development/delivery
  • Significant experience in project management and delivery
  • Awareness of business case inputs and parameters desired (eg financial returns metrics)
  • Experience of operating across company functions, global borders and cultures
  • High level of interpersonal skills to work a challenging environment and be fully pro-active

Education Required:

  • Significant proven automotive experience
  • Previous strategy experience (eg minimum 2 years at major strategy houses, M&A support)
  • Additional professional qualifications desirable but not a prerequisite (eg MBA, CIMA, ACCA)
  • Experience in reporting to Executive/Board Level
