Manufacturing Process Engineer

A Manufacturing Process Engineer with defence experience is required to work on a six month contract (with the possibility of extension) for our defence client based in South Wales.

This is a 6 month contract for a leading UK defence company.

Overview of the Manufacturing Process Engineer contract role

The role is responsible for the development of manufacturing processes from concept through to commissioning and qualification. Applicants must be able to demonstrate a proven capability in developing manufacturing processes including system integration. The successful applicant will be the first point of contact for process queries within the team.

Key skills required for the Manufacturing Process Engineer

Qualification and Experience (D - Desirable, E - Essential)

  • Minimum HNC/HND Mechanical, Manufacturing, Chemical or equivalent (E)
  • Experience and demonstrated knowledge of materials processing (D)
  • Experience an demonstrated knowledge in manufacturing in a high hazard environment (D)
  • IOSH Managing Safety/NEBOSH Certificate (D)
  • Green Belt Six Sigma (D)
  • A good understanding of project/risk management and the ability to use associated tools and techniques. (E)
  • Formal training in Programmable Logic Control (PLC) (E)
  • Competent in the use of computers including Microsoft Office (E)

The role is based in South Wales - commutable from Abergavenny, Ebbw Vale, Merthyr Tydfil, Aberdare, Pontypridd, Newport, Caldicot, Usk, Chepstow, Monmouth, Cwmbran, Blackwood, Pontypool and Abertillery with excellent access from Hereford, Ross-on-Wye, Cheltenham, Gloucester,
