Title: Scrum Master

Duration: 2+ Years

Number of Positions: 1

Years of experience: 5+ Years

Comments: This person will be responsible for running daily meetings, issue resolution, scheduling meetings to address said issues and pulling teams together for resolution. Tactical management for Agile development. Responsible for bringing together resources and will be given the opportunity to work with multiple groups, vendors and businesses. Candidates must work onsite in Tulsa. No remote options. Possibility to extend assignment depending on status of project. JIRA and HPQC experience is strongly preferred.

Job Description: The role of the Scrum Master is to manage the Scrum process for new system implementation projects that are currently underway. Coordinating efforts of team members, vendors, and consultants through the agile process is essential. Additionally, this role may be responsible for project management tasks, business analyst tasks and/or testing tasks.

As Scrum Master:

  • Manage releases and their sprints: MyGasKit (release 3), Customer Interface (release 4), and post-production
  • Facilitate daily stand-up meetings, reviews, retrospectives, sprint and planning activities
  • Resolve blocks identified by team members
  • Maintain JIRA: bug categorization, testing board, sprint boards
  • Track and communicate team Viscosity and sprint/release progress
  • Lead sprint planning, grooming, and retrospectives
  • Capacity planning for each sprint
  • Find techniques for effective Product Backlog management
  • Creates forum for communicating vision, goals, and Product Backlog items to the team
  • Teaching the team to create clear and concise Backlog items
  • Assist with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information
  • Coach teams in adopting and executing the Agile methodology (Scrum) and Scrum-related ceremonies and meetings
  • Make decisions on how work should be best represented in JIRA to meet team needs
  • Provide ad-hoc reporting to management
  • Support the Product Owner
  • Empower the team to self-organize
  • Assist with prioritization
  • Understand long-term product planning
  • Identify and remove impediments and prevent distractions
  • Manage requirements
  • Track defects
  • Lead triage meetings for defects
  • Track requirements through testing

Additional responsibilities:

  • Project administration to assist the project manager in ensuring that tasks are completed in a timely manner
  • May be responsible for performing business analysis to ensure issues are resolved promptly.
  • May perform quality assurance testing

Job Qualifications/Technology Requirements

  • Prior experience in the Oil & Gas industry is preferred
  • Solid understanding of the AGILE methodology
  • Demonstrated track record of driving for results
  • Ability to drive discussions across multiple business and IM areas to manage tasks, resolve issues, etc
  • Strong experience with JIRA
  • Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office Tools, including Microsoft Project
  • Experience with both waterfall and agile methodologies
  • Experience with vendor software package implementations
  • HPQC experience preferred
  • Certified Scrum Master preferred
