Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Fixed Asset Accountant to work within Central Government on a contract basis. This position is based in Swansea, initially for 7 months offering up to £438 per day Ltd.
Main Duties:
Financial reporting, control and governance arrangements for the agency, including the production of the Annual Report and Accounts
Maintaining governance and control over the fixed asset base of the agency
Leading the agency's development of a fees strategy including agreeing fee structures and fee levels.
Fees and charges is currently a priority and the candidate will be asked to support in this area, in particular the development and implementation of a new product costing model.
The candidate will be expected to take a flexible, hands-on approach to work, supporting the finance function of the agency. This may involve fitting in on an ad hoc basis where ever necessary to backfill for permanent staff during critical periods of the implementation.
Essential Experience
CCAB qualified accountant (or equivalent) with 5+ years post qualification experience.
Experience of financial accounting and producing statutory accounts, ideally under IFRS.
Expert user of Microsoft excel, in particular database functions including tables functionality, lookups and pivot tables.
Experience of financial accounting in a large organisation.
Willingness and capability to work flexibly and independently.
Willingness to travel as the job requires (likely to be several times a month).
Desirable
Experience of fixed asset accounting in a complex, multi-site public sector organisation (Fixed Asset Accountant).
Experience of product costing in a complex service delivery organisation.
Experience of working with SAP
