Description

Title: Scrum Master

Location: Bothell, WA

Duration: 06 months with Possible Extension

Description:

  • The Scrum Master has the primary responsibility to ensure the self-organizing, self-managing scrum team achieves its goals, through continuous improvement and internalizes Agile principles, values and practices. Scrum Masters do so by coaching, implementing and supporting Agile practices and identifying and removing impediments.
  • The development teams are transitioning from waterfall/Lean development to SAFe. The teams are responsible for developing HW & Systems products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Helps the team understand and follow the appropriate Agile frameworks (Kanban, Scrum, SAFe)
  • Helps the team meet their daily and iteration objectives
  • Works to remove internal and external impediments in the Scrum team
  • Facilitates team ceremonies
  • Facilitates continuous improvement with team retrospection
  • Represents the team in Scrum of Scrums and PI planning
  • Collaborate with other Scrum Master in the Release Train for Solution Delivery
  • Is responsible to ensure identification of the resources (People, HW) required to meet the goals.
  • Facilitates team level progress and KPI reporting
  • Improves team member engagement and movement toward Agile team culture
  • Improves team KPIs, delivery of business value and Agile/Lean engineering practices
  • Advocates for systemic changes to assist the team to deliver more efficient and effectively
  • Maintains awareness of the scope of team's backlog
  • Assists Product Owner with best practices in forming work items and backlog grooming
  • Mentors upcoming Scrum Masters and new Product Owners

Work Experience:

Required

  • Minimum 8 to 10 Experience
  • Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience in coaching and mentoring a team of 8-10 developers/testers

Preferred

  • Minimum 2 to 3 years of experience working in SAFe and/or Hardware and Systems agile environment

Knowledge, skills and education

Required

  • Prior experience as a Scrum Master in a scaled agile and/or Lean product development environment
  • Certified Scrum Master
  • Knowledge and experience of using Agile Lifecycle Management (ALMs) Tools
  • Team player, high inter personal skills, collaboration skills
  • Ability to get things done without authority
  • Experience facilitating scrum ceremonies and ability to explain why they are important
  • Experience helping teams accelerate adoption of scrum practices
  • Mentoring new Scrum Masters and Product Owners
  • Takes initiative

Preferable:

  • SAFe experience
  • Experience with team starts and training teams on Agile frameworks
  • Rational Team concert tool experience
  • Experience developing a HW and/or systems product under an Agile/Lean Framework
