Finance Workstream Lead - Government

We are looking for a contractor Finance Workstream Lead to work on a 6 month contract for our government clients based in either Bristol or Swansea. This role will provide support, advice and assurance to Finance and suppliers, ensuring client meets contractual obligation and project deadlines. Understanding of SAP Employee and Manager Self-Service is essential.

Daily rate up to: £500.00 per day

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Additional resource is required to support the migration to SAP shared services. This resource is to be the Finance lead co-ordinating all Finance related activities in support of the migration from Oracle to SAP Shared Services.
  • The Workstream lead will work with the Project Manager, wider project team (in particular the HR, Data and Testing workstream leads), the Shared Services provider and the business, providing support, advice and assurance and being the main interface between Finance Business as Usual, the Shared Services project and This role will co-ordinate Finance related activity ensuring that the client meets its contractual obligations and project deadlines.
  • Supporting the various testing phases within the project (Dry Data Runs, User Acceptance Testing, Regression Testing and Trial Cutover activities), ensuring queries raised by suppliers are resolved timely and accurately.
  • To support the Organisational Design workstream ensuring that Finance are engaged and represented.
  • To support the Business Change workstream in particular ensuring that Finance users of SAP Shared Services training requirements are defined, approved and delivered.
  • To represent Finance on internal governance boards as and when required eg Shared Services Project Board
  • To ensure that Finance Business as Usual are kept informed regarding the Shared Services project
  • Supporting the Project Manager by providing advice and guidance across a broad range of activities
  • Ensure that Finance business risks are being tracked and mitigated as effectively as possible.
  • Co-ordination of Finance UAT resources, ensuring appropriate testers are available when required

Skills required:

  • Able to collate, write-up and ensure approval of Policies, Procedures and Processes.
  • Impact analysis and planning for Business Process Re-engineering and Transition
  • Effective Communicator including work with multiple internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience in the use of MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint
  • Understanding of SAP Employee and Manager Self-Service
  • An element of travelling will be required which may require overnight stays.
  • Knowledge of Prince2
  • Part Qualified (CCAB or equivalent) is desirable but not essential
  • Experience of migrations to SAP from a Finance perspective desirable
  • Knowledge of Oracle Financials desirable
