Financial Control Consultant

We are currently looking to recruit a financial controls consultant to work for a top financial services business in the City. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a finance transformation piece over the next 6 - 12 months.

Financial controls consultant responsibilities:

  • Review of the efficiency and effectiveness of current processes and identify opportunities for improvements.
  • Support/Lead in the delivery of new systems capability eg straight through processing from sub ledgers to general ledger, new chart of accounts, fixed assets module, over this period.
  • Working with the Financial Control team to consistently document their business processes (see below) and Standard Operating Procedures in line with Company standards. These standards include documentation of risks and controls.
  • The individual will be expected to lead and project manage the overall completion of the exercise while facilitating interviews and working sessions with process owners and subject matter experts to complete the documentation for the in scope processes.

Financial controls consultant experience/Skill set:

  • Qualified accountant (Aca, Aca, Acma, Cima)
  • Extensive Financial Accounting and Reporting experience
  • Financial services
  • Finance performance improvement experience
  • Process/procedure writing experience
  • Track record of continuous improvement, identifying opportunities and implementing
  • Visio and Word - Intermediate/Advanced level
