An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Finance Manager to work within Central Government on a contract basis. This position is based in Nottingham, initially until June 2017 offering up to £620 per day Ltd.
Main Duties
The role will provide strategic financial leadership to the Direct Commissioning and Corporate Service functions and provide strategic direction to the Heads of Departments and Locality Directors, particularly in the development and delivery of effective commissioning arrangements across the North Midlands.
Drive the strategy for, supporting and ensuring alignment across the system
Drive reform and support organisational change and uptake of initiatives that support excellence
Develop and communicate the vision for the role of innovation, and the development of strategy and operational policies within Primary Care, Health & Justice and Public Health to support this vision.
Identify examples of national best practice and to ensure that the sector benefits from relevant innovations in healthcare
Support development by developing the innovation infrastructure and capacity in the organisation
Provide expertise of best practice methodologies regulatory requirements, policy imperatives, innovation and technological developments and stakeholders knowledge
Support development of financial and operational plans
Review financial plans and performance, including actions agreed to deliver the financial plan
QIPP planning and delivery, including identification of opportunities through benchmarking. This will include taking responsibility for QIPP monitoring for Direct Commissioning Areas and Corporate Departments
Essential Experience:
Qualified CCAB accountant with unblemished registration
Educated to masters level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in specialist area.
Wide range of experience of financial management in a senior role
Senior finance leadership role encompassing providing appropriate advice and support to senior managers, and in overseeing, assuring or delivering strategic change.
Extensive knowledge of specialist areas, acquired through post graduate diploma or equivalent experience or training plus further specialist knowledge or experience to masters level equivalent.
Should have an appreciation of the relationship between the Department of Health and individual provider and commissioning organisations.
