Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Inventory Manager to work within Central Government on a contract basis. This position is based in Bristol, initially for 5 months offering up to £315 per day Ltd.

Main Duties:

MCS require DFEARON personnel with GFE (Government Furnished Equipment) management experience to undertake the outstanding actions highlighted in the 2014 Defence Internal Audit Report on MCS' Management of Assets in Industry. Primarily the tasks undertaken will address & closedown the outstanding actions to provide an immediate mechanism to deliver compliance by the next audit & provide a clean baseline which could be effectively maintained within MCS by deploying improved processes identified utilising current resources. These actions include but are not exclusive to:

Validating/reconciling contractor data (694 report), as provided by the DBS Finance FAADMT against internal documentation.

Working collaboratively with MCS, external contractors & other PTs within DE&S to verify GFE requirements against expired contracts, initiate actions required to rectify issues identified.

Investigating losses identified by the contractor & raising the required auditable MOD documentation in accordance with MOD Materiel & Financial accounting policy.

Identify assets with disposal indicators & imitate the required actions in compliance with MOD policy.

Ensuring contractor compliance with DEFCON 694, 611, 23 & DEFSTAN 05-99.

Preparing, monitoring, reviewing, analysing & coordinating GFE documentation in compliance with MOD policy.

Assisting in the development of a strategy of processes to enable future activities to be undertaken within MCS to comply with MOD GFE policy.

Provide updates to MCS senior inventory managers of progress made/risks identified during the verification activities.

Prepare, monitor, review, analyse & coordinate GFE documentation in compliance with MOD policy.

Attend meetings as GFE Manager as required.

Resolve any discrepancies identified between the contractors data and the PTs internal loan register.

Provide an exit summary of actions undertaken, outstanding actions, successes & failures complete with a full audit trail.

Ensure MCS has completed outstanding tasks highlighted in 2014 DIA Audit, in line with MOD policy & with a full audit trail.

Experience Required

MOD Supply Chain Management experience and/or SCM Skills Certificate would be an advantage.
