The Role

The Risk Manager will be based with a leading financial services company in Edinburgh on an initial contract length of 3 months. Although the initial contract is for 3 months, the contract has a very high potential to go long past the initial contract on offer. The initial day rate on offer is £400-£495/day.

The key aspect of the role is to manage the process of the Ring Fencing project from a Stress Testing perspective and to develop an appropriate approach for stressing the Ring Fenced/Non Ring Fenced bank.

The responsibilities of the Risk Manager will be:

  • Lead in implementing key elements of the Ring Fenced/Non Ring Fenced activities for stress testing processes for all Group-wide capital stress tests, including: assisting with preparing instructions and templates, communicating requirements, providing support and reviewing and aggregating results.
  • Responsible for managing the Ring Fence/Non Ring Fence process around each stress testing exercise including consolidation at group level in partnership with Group Finance colleagues.
  • Manage relationships with stakeholders across the group.
  • Contribute to the on-going development of policy and standards for robust and consistent stress testing across the Group, ensuring inclusion of best practice

The successful candidate should be self-motivated; have a high level of analytical ability; be able to communicate complex issues clearly; have a strong attention to detail; suggest innovative solutions to issues; develop and lead activities; and a positive can-do attitude.

It is essential that the candidate has prior stress testing experience. Experience and knowledge in Financial Planning/Capital Management, Market Risk/regulatory understanding is highly desirable, but not essential.

The Client

We have a number of current and former contractors who have or are still currently working with the client, and we all hear the same positive feedback all the time. It is a great place to work, and a great place to establish yourself as a reliable contractor. The client ideally likes to keep hold of good contractors, and has quite a high potential to move on to future projects if you have proven yourself as a reliable contractor.

Being a Contractor

As the role is a contract role you will need to go through a limited company. If you are new to contracting, or looking to get back to contracting, we have a number of suppliers that we work with that can guide you through the process of setting up a limited company.

How to Apply

To apply for the role, you can apply directly through the site or you can reach me on the contact details below. Ideally we aim to provide feedback within 72 hours of your application but in some instances that may not be possible.
