Supply Chain Logistics Principal
A Supply Chain Logistics Principal with 3rd party logistics knowledge is required to work on a three to six month contract (with the possibility of extension) for our Defence client based in Glasgow
This is a 3-6 month contract working with a leading UK defence company.
Overview of the Supply Chain Logistics Principal contract role
You will be required to manage and influence the relationship between third party logistics provider and all key stakeholders, review and monitor the performance of third party logistics provider ensuring that mutual objectives deliver sustainable and continuously improving results. Control budget and manage delivery of the business case. Work with management levels across Operations, Programmes, Finance and Supply Chain to deliver improvement opportunities throughout the business.
Key skills required for the Supply Chain Logistics Principal
- Demonstrated achievement and success in a Logistics and/or Operations environment
- Experience of working to a 3rdParty Logistics operating model
- Experience of managing the relationship with a 3rdParty Logistics provider
- A detailed knowledge of the Supply Chain Function and its interfaces
- Able to build and improve effective, productive Supplier and Customer relationships
- Excellent communication skills across all levels
- Ability to drive and deliver results
- Developed influencing and negotiation skills
- Developed analytical & practical problem solving skills (PPS)
- Active commitment to SH&E
- MCIPS, MCILT or MIOM preferable
- Lean/Six Sigma qualification preferable
The role is based in Glasgow - Commutable from Kilmarnock, Paisley, Greenock, Stirling and Falkirk with excellent access from Edinburgh
