Description

Senior Mechanical Design Engineer/Leeds/10 Months Contract/Up To £40 Per Hr

Project manage updates to risk assessments. Manage engineering changes to documentation.

Principal Accountabilities:

All work will be carried out in accordance with company SOP`s, policies and procedures.

Able to assimilate information quickly

Undertake literature review if required

Ensure high level of consistency within diverse risk assessments

Create and manage Engineering Change Orders.

Undertake mechanical/numerical analysis.

Participate in the systematic review of function.

Assume responsibility for own commitments & delivering to agreed timescales in line with project plans.

Take ownership of risk assessment to ensure they are completed and implemented in a timely manner.

Define and complete reports required for the risk management process.

Update Design FMEA's and the companies Risk Management Process.

Interact with all levels of company management, external experts and vendors.

Verify own work through DePuy's systems.

Liaise with and supervise vendors contracted to supply design related information to the company.

Work to product and project cost targets

Working as part of a Global Project Core Team with its inherent communication and cultural challenges.

Dimensions:

Must provide consistency over 100 risk assessments

Works with limited technical supervision.

Exhibits effective time management and decision making skills.

Is proactive, demonstrating a high level of initiative but consistency.

Capable of budget estimation and management.

Has excellent team working skills and flexibility.

Qualifications and Experience:

Possess a mechanical design engineering background.

Possess a minimum relevant HNC/HND plus 5 years' experience or Mechanical Engineering Degree plus 2 years experience.

Special Aptitudes:

Highly Computer Literate.

Willing to work in virtual teams.

Ensures consistency within diverse tasks

Comfortable with detailed and top level information.
