Site Safety Case Engineer - Nuclear
A Site Safety Case Engineer with Nuclear experience is required to work on a twelve month contract (with the possibility of extension) for our defence client based in Cumbria
This is a 12 month contract working with a leading UK defence company.
Overview of the Site Safety Case Engineer contract role
You will be responsible for authoring safety case documentation to demonstrate that radiological risks associated with activities performed on the Barrow site are ALARP as well as identifying hazards by use of appropriate techniques, Identifying Safety Functional Requirements and their decomposition into engineering requirements where you will be undertaking probabilistic and/or deterministic safety case analyses.
Key skills required for the Site Safety Case Engineer
- Degree in engineering, maths or science based subject.
- Knowledge of the UK approach to production of nuclear safety cases subject to civil regulation in terms of legislation, standards, criteria, and processes.
- Used to working to deadlines.
- Used to working with formal controls for document production including stakeholder review, Independent Peer Review, Independent Technical.
- Assessment and safety committee review.
- Experience of production of or working closely with nuclear safety case documentation
- Experience of working in an organisation subject to Nuclear Licensing and/or Regulation
The role is based in Barrow in Furness, Cumbria - commutable from Carnforth, Milnthorpe, Lancaster, Morecambe, Penrith, Workington, Whitehaven and The Lake District.
