Our client are a large local government organisation and are looking for an experienced Senior Procurement Manager to join their team.
This is initially a 6 month contract which may be extended for the right candidate. Our client is looking for someone who can come on board and held develop their Commercial Strategy and help deliver key procurements using optimal procurement approach, CSS, OJEU etc. You will also ensure that the procurements are compliant with EC Directives and Public Contract Regulations 2015 as well as seeking to drive value for money through procurement approaches, supplier negotiation and strong contract management.
The successful applicant will be MCIPS certified and have extensive experience of delivering complex high risk procurements and sourcing activity at a strategic level and have a strong track record of meeting service/business need, delivering complex and high risk procurements and sourcing activity at a strategic level and can demonstrate solid knowledge and understanding of the full end to end procurement process which includes strategic procurement techniques, sourcing and tendering, supplier management and negotiation. You will also have a proven track record in the delivery of procurement projects and programmes. You will also have expert knowledge of public sector procurement regulations and EC Directives.
It is important that Experience of procuring delivery partners for the programmes specifically a consultancy based procurement model made up of a number of distinct packages. Experience of working on procurements with outsourced application development work would be a distinctive advantage.
