MEP Engineer - 9 Month Temporary Contract - Immediate Start

We are recruiting for one of the nation's largest commercial companies who provide an extensive range of construction services including construction management, general contracting, design and build and preconstruction.

The Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an MEP Certification Engineer to join our Quality team on a 9 month contract based in Woolwich, London. The MEP element of the project will include the design, fit-out and handover of the works associated with the new Station together with plant installation and finishing works as part of CrossRail Programme.

As the successful candidate you will assist the Quality Team in their strategic & operational targets providing expertise to the Project to ensure Assurance documentation, with the emphasis on Rail and Systems, is produced and accepted by Cross rail. You will also ensure the continual improvement of project performance in line with external standards and the integrated management systems

Key Requirements

  • preparation of Self-Certification Packages for submission within delegated MEP Area of the project
  • progressively collating and populating the assurance documentation for the installation and testing and Commissioning
  • review of MEP records for completeness and accuracy
  • periodic Review of packages status and prepare period reports on progress
  • review of MEP Packages prior to submission to CRL
  • updating Certification schedule and works breakdown structure in line with commissioning
  • liaison with Engineers, CRL Field Engineers, CRLs Certification Team and Sub-contractors and provide professional assurance support
  • co-ordination and review of sub-contractor documents
  • ensure compliance with internal processes and systems to deal with issues effectively and efficiently and drive a "right first time" approach
  • raise NCRs where necessary
  • attend Quality Meetings as requested
  • contribute to the preparation of Health and Safety/Handover of Files
  • use performance measurement tools to ensure that relevant information is captured and trends reviewed
  • maintain current working knowledge of relevant legislation, British Standards, International Standards and industry practice
  • undertake surveillances, audits, reporting and implementing corrective and preventive actions, lessons learned and improvements
  • identify best practice for promotion within the project and across the businesses
  • support the Quality Manager in the implementation of the Integrated Management System
  • deliver quality advice and guidance at all levels
  • ensure all released documents are produced to programme and are compliant and accurate
  • deputise for Senior MEP Certification Engineer
  • support other disciplines of the Quality Team as instructed

You

  • Competent in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Experience within a quality based environment
  • Experience working within an assurance discipline
  • Experience of working within Assurance Handover and contract completion
  • CSCS required
  • Basic knowledge of ISO90001 and its implementation
  • Experience of working on multi-discipline civil engineering projects
  • Previous experience in a Quality Assurance delivery role desirable
  • Previous Cross rail experience an advantage
  • High level of attention to detail with the ability to work to challenging deadlines
  • Excellent organisational, planning and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both orally and in written form
  • Self-driven, results-orientated with a positive outlook
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Packages, especially Excel
  • Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat and creating PDF documents
