SOLUTION DESIGNER - RETAIL & MARKETING APPLICATIONS

For one of our end clients, a prestigious and well known retail brand within the Benelux, we are seeking an experienced Solution Designer. You will be part of the Retail & Marketing Centre of Excellence which is responsible for the realisation of regional solutions (the configuration, development, interfacing of regional retail and marketing applications both for in-store as headquarters). This team is also responsible for application change/configuration management and system governance.
YOUR ROLE:
- Develop and document detailed software architecture for retail and marketing solutions
- Collaborate with business analysts to translate product requirements to system level architecture and high-level designs that can be re-used across multiple applications and solutions (with a focus on the solutions integration within our various landscapes)
- Contribute the process of researching, identifying and evaluating appropriate technologies (platforms, components, hardware, services) required for meeting company product development goals
- Work individually and with other designers/architects to ensure that breadth and granularity of strategies, standards and reference architectures are consistent and well integrate
- Implement and facilitate an agile methodology aimed to insure that re-usable patterns, components and methodologies are implemented and adopted
- Ensure the quality delivery of enterprise solutions, defining the technical architecture vision and design principles, overseeing the implementation, configuration and testing of the architecture
KNOCK-OUT CRITERIA:
- Mandatory prior experience of minimum 5 years in a related work experience, in a complex (distributed) environment
- Mandatory Prior Experience of minimum 3 years with Retail and Marketing solutions covering one or more of following topics
- Customer facing in-store systems: POS, self-scanning, self-checkout
- Loyalty solutions
- Customer data management solutions
- Advanced customer analytics: recommendation engines, customer insights, segmentation
- Big Data solutions
- major ERP and CRM systems and how they are used in an Omni-Channel approach
- Ranging from customer care to campaign management
- Effective in delivering presentations and running meetings and/or workshops
- Experience with security and data privacy compliance
- Master Degree in Information Technology sciences or any other discipline of technical orientation
- Proven education and/or experience in retail and marketing technologies (POS/checkout systems, data analytics, campaign management, CRM)
- Proven education and/or experience with Big Data solutions will be considered a strong asset
- Excellent knowledge of the English language (French/Dutch/Greek/Romanian/Serbian are an asset)
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE
- Strong knowledge of data storage and processing technologies (relational DBMS, no SQL, Hadoop )
- Knowledge of software development frameworks (.net and Java)
- 3+ years in position of Solution Designer (incl. solution design and Datamodelling)
- Prior consulting, advisory, or professional services experience preferred
- Practical expertise in performance tuning and optimization, bottleneck problems analysis
- IT experience in Retail Front End, Back End, Digital, Marketing environment
- Experience in standard IT processes (change management, release management, incident management)
- Experience in Data Exchange and Synchronization projects will be considered an asset
- Knowledge of CRM solutions will be considered an asset
- Knowledge of POS solutions will be considered an asset
- Knowledge of Loyalty solutions will be considered an asset
- Knowledge of customer analytics solutions (Big Data or others) will be considered an asset
- Excellent command of Microsoft solutions (Office, Project, Visio)
