Sanctions Business Partner

Role Type: Permanent

Salary: £75,000 to £85,000 plus benefits

Location: London

Our Client, a leading UK Bank is looking for an experienced Sanctions Business Partner to lead the design, development and delivery of reports and analysis to improve the quality and value of compliance MI reporting as well as drive consistency of MI globally.

Hybrid Project Manager/Business Analyst would be a good fit for this role.

Role Purpose

  • To manage and deliver reporting & analytics for stakeholders within the Sanctions function.
  • To maintain oversight of:
  • MI analytics and reporting within the Sanctions function
  • The MI and data framework across HSBC ie standard MI and data utilised by the 3 lines of defence
  • Reporting into the Global Compliance MI (GCMI) organisation, and be the primary interface with Global Sanctions Business Management, regarding metrics, reporting and other management information needs
  • Capture Sanctions RC and FCC reporting and data needs, provide recommendations, and facilitate solutions by leveraging the capabilities of the wider Global Compliance MI (GCMI).
  • Metric collation and production of metric reporting on behalf of Sanctions Business Management.
  • Continuous improvement of metrics, reporting, and data including, but not limited to, improvements in quality and efficiency, removing redundancies and rationalizing similar data provided in different capacities across the organization.

Knowledge & Experience/Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Five years of proven and progressive experience in Compliance at a financial institution or comparable environment.
  • Five years of proven and progressive work in a project-oriented environment, including management consulting, project management and/or business analysis experience
  • The successful candidate will be practical, diplomatic, and professional. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail combined with the ability to take complete ownership of issues, work independently with confidence and deliver to deadlines in line with expectations
  • Proven ability to distil complex and varied data into information that can be utilized by the global functions to manage and measure performance
  • Ability to work and communicate with senior management to understand the pressures, challenges and demands on a given function and create solutions to address those items.
  • Outstanding written/verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Previous experience working on improving process and procedure is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, design and problem solving skills
  • Proficient with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills
  • Knowledge of data flow and data architecture
