Systems Engineer - Specification, Design, Development, Clearance

A Systems Engineer with Specification, Development and Clearance is required to work on a twelve month contract (WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF EXTENSION) for our Defence client based in Lancashire

This is an opportunity to work on military aircraft.

Overview of the Systems Engineer contract role.

2 x General Systems Engineers are responsible for the engineering specification, development, clearance and support of the General Systems (including Fuel, Crew Escape, Life Support, Aircrew Equipment, Electrical Power Generation, Environmental Control, Utility Control Systems and Actuation).

The jobholder will need specialist knowledge and technical expertise in the application of developing the maturity of systems and resolving system and equipment problems. The successful candidate will be qualified to HND standard or degree level in Engineering or be able to demonstrate relevant knowledge, experience and product expertise.

Applicants should be proficient in verbal and written communications, IT competent and be able to effectively research system design data and demonstrate creative problem solving skills. They need to be effective team workers supporting, co-operating and working with others to achieve common objectives. Experience in the role of design, developing and supporting engineering products would be an advantage. Also, experience in aircraft System Clearance activities would be an advantage.

Key skills required for the Systems Engineer.

The successful candidate will work within the General Systems team.

To develop and supply a technical expertise in the engineering specification, development, clearance and support of the General Systems Engineering systems.

The role will be technical and include addressing aspects of the Life Cycle Management of systems. To develop specialist knowledge within that field of application of developing systems maturity and resolving system problems.

To develop and maintain working relationships across interfacing disciplines.

The role is based in Preston, Lancashire - commutable from Blackpool, Lancaster, Morecambe, Chorley, Leyland, Blackburn, Darwen, Burnley, Skipton, Stockport, Manchester, Warrington, Wigan, Bolton, Bury, Rochdale and Oldham with excellent access from Liverpool and Leeds
