Senior Project Accountant
A Senior Project Accountant with defence experience is required to work on a six month contract (with the possibility of extension) for our Defence client based in New Malden.
This is a 6 month contract working with a leading UK defence company.
Overview of the Senior Project Accountant contract role
As the Senior Project Accountant you will be working with and assisting the Project Finance Manager in the financial management and control of the Core Combat Systems Equipment (CCSE) and Integration Services programmes, covering about 100 varied projects. Providing high quality financial support and advice to the Project and Management teams to ensure successful contract execution and delivery of IBP targets.
Key skills required for the Senior Project Accountant
- Produce Project Cost Certificates and SSRO inputs as required and support their audits, investigating and resolving queries.
- Diligently and accurately complete Financial Controls Framework Control Owner Self-Assessments.
- Attendance and contribution to project and functional meetings as appropriate.
- Support the achievement of programme and functional quality targets.
- Good knowledge and application of Finance Systems Manuals, Financial Controls Framework and Lifecycle Management.
- Experience of using ERP systems, ideally SAP.
- Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA or equivalent) with demonstrable experience of financially managing contracts.
The role is based in Surrey - commutable from Hounslow, Twickenham, Kingston upon Thames, Mitcham, Croydon, Sutton, Epsom, Leatherhead, Weybridge and Staines with excellent access from London, Hampshire and Berkshire.
