Description
An exciting opportunity is available for a Consultant with FAME to join our team at European Statistical Office (Eurostat). This position is located in the historic city of Luxembourg.
We are searching for a candidate with the following profile:
- Experience with Fame (proven by a training certificate of a course on Fame Databases and/or MarketMap Analytic Language);
- Experience with additional statistical and econometric analysis specialized software;
- Experience in statistical production processes;
- Experience with project methodology (Agile, Scrum or Waterfall) proven by a training certificate or at least 1 year of experience;
- Knowledge of Unix and Linux, Visual Basic and Visual Studio, Java;
- Knowledge of software development and database technology;
- Ability to analyse user requirements and design and implement appropriate solutions;
- Very good analytical skills, for problem solving and algorithm design;
- Ability to use modelling-oriented languages (ex.: UML);
- Very good ability to write objective, technically precise and clear documentation;
- Fluency in English both in oral and written expression;
- Knowledge of French can be an advantage.
Tasks will include:
- User assistance in drafting business cases and user requirements
- Align the statistical processes to the applicable IT standards
- Corrective and evolutionary maintenance
- Improve Fame domains to be in line with the applicable IT standards
- User support & Training
- Adapting the common layer of FAME: F1
- Manage the technical infrastructure used by the development team
The position is offered as a freelance contract, initially until the end of 2017, with a high probability of further extensions. The candidate needs to be available for immediate interviews.
