Proteus Europe is searching for a Software Architect for a 9 Month+ contract role based in Brussels, Belgium within the Utilities sector.Languages:
- French (C2 - Proficient User: proficiency)
- English (B2- Independant User: upper intermediate)
- Dutch (B2- Independant User: upper intermediate)

Your New role :-
STUDY and IMPACT ANALYSIS - you lead studies involving new strategic components or solutions; you propose solution scenarios, recommend the best, analyze its risks, estimate its benefits and costs. You make sound decisions based on key business and technical drivers.
TECHNOLOGICAL OPPORTUNITY - you identify the latest applicative solutions on the market that would present opportunities for the Business. You identify and propose innovative solutions and opportunities for IS architecture evolution.
TOOL ASSESSMENT and POC DEVELOPMENT - You
are able to assess tools, to compare them with existing solutions and make the best recommendation. You are part-time involved in development of Proof of Concepts.
TECHNICAL ADVISOR - You provide strong architect expertise to ensure that the Technical Architecture supports and aligns with business initiatives and technology strategy.
TEAM SUPPORT - You act as a technical expert to actively support and help delivery of scrum teams in their activities. You support the teams for technical refactoring to target/improve the quality of the design/architecture.
GEM-IS ARCHITECTURE PARTNER - You work in collaboration with the central GEM-IS Architecture team that provides guidelines on the technology strategy and evolution.

EXPECTED EXPERIENCES
- You have multiple experiences in development, design, and architecture
- Strong knowledge of integration techniques and solutions
- You have a good experience with Agile projects;
- Experience with software architecture methodologies (4+1, viewpoints, ATAM, )
- Notions of Enterprise Architecture methodologies (TOGAF, Zachman)
- Fluency with at least one Software Architecture language (UML, ArchiMate, acme or another ADL)
- Proven expertise on design patterns, design principles and philosophies
EXPECTED SKILLS
- You are fluent in English (oral and written) and preferably have a good knowledge of French or Dutch.
- You share and impersonate the agile values (focus, commitment, respect, courage, openness,)
- You are able to work proactively and independently but also as a team player in complex project organizations.
- You have excellent communication skills (verbally and written) and can explain technical subjects simply so that everyone can easily understand you. You are able to digest and summarize complex topics and share vision.
- Very good learning mentality
- You have a good analytical and conceptual thinking and are problem solving;
- You are capable of multitasking and prioritizing in a fast paced and agile work environment;
- You are flexible and focus on the defined priorities.
Desirable Skills :-
- Knowledge of the electricity / power energy sector with related experience;
- Related experience in the energy or banking sector, financial aspects.
- Experience with Iterative development methodologies (XP, OpenUP, Scrum, DAD)
