Financial Accountant x 2 - (CIMA or ACCA or CCAB) - Statutory Accounts (IFRS)
Financial Accountants required to manage the production of organisations Group accounts including all related returns, submissions ensuring that the Group accounts are laid before Parliament pre-recess
Activities
- Leading on the production of the group financial accounts (including statement of parliamentary supply)
- Stakeholder engagement - chief contact with the National Audit Office and management of the external audit interface Oversight of the Whole of Government Accounts return
- Providing detailed technical and strategic accounting advice, both internally and externally where required
Key Deliverables
- Preparation of Group Consolidation Model within agreed project plan timescales
- To manage the production of Group accounts including all related returns, submissions ensuring laid before Parliament pre-recess (assignment completed by end July)
Skills
- CCAB qualification essential
- The experience needed:
- Managing the production of statutory accounts and related returns
- Managing the external audit interface
- Managing the production of high quality accounting forecasts and estimates from a large volume of imperfect information
- Providing high quality accounting advice (ideally in a public sector context)
- Experience of project management would be advantageous Knowledge of technical accounting
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent team working skills
- Knowledge of the use of financial systems would be advantageous
- Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Government Financial Reporting Manual (FReM) preferred
- Experience of providing high quality accounting advice (ideally in a public sector context)
- Experience of managing preparation of year end accounts
- Public sector experience preferred
- Whole of Government Accounts experience preferred
