Category Buyer/Implementer - World Leading Oil & Gas Co

World Leading Global Energy Oil Company has an exciting opportunity for a Junior Category Buyer/Implementer to be responsible for the delivery of Category plans, working with the Senior Category Manager to establish the vision, strategy, key marketing tactics and upholding the relationship with leading product manufacturers.

About the Role:

  • Deliver sales and margin against targets.
  • Managing the relationship with leading product manufacturers and negotiating the best possible outcome to achieve those targets
  • Owns the business deliverables assigned to the categories. Monitor and measure the category performance maintaining a proper balance between long-term view and business demands of the annual category plan
  • Developing a recommended pricing strategy for the categories
  • Responsible for the data for respective category within Product Master File
  • Work in close collaboration with supply chain in identifying synergy opportunities and incremental value to the business.
  • Grow like for like sales, basket size and share of customer footfall.
  • Build a good working relationship with Sales and Operations effectively to ensure delivery of the category plans at site
  • Work effectively with third parties and conduct successful negotiations.

About You:

  • Other than managing the categories, the successful candidate may look after other short or long term projects or programmes.
  • First-hand experience and understanding of fast moving consumer goods marketing with excellent negotiation skills and building supplier relationship
  • Strong understanding of retail fundamentals of buying, assorting, placement, merchandising and retail operational processes
  • Strong Analytical skill
  • Good negotiating skills
  • Experience in a buying or trading environment
  • Good relationship management and communication skills
  • Team player
