Description

Retail Marketing manager required by my client a global consultancy based in Berkshire. This is a remote based role that will involve a lot of travelling to customer site. This position is a initial 6 months paying between £300 - £330 per day.

This role is responsible for the effective development and execution of a Marketing plan which drives awareness.

A successful Retail business is a crucial part of our overall CSB strategy. Profitable growth here will rely on us combining our Retail, Consumer and SB plans in a way that amplifies our investment and delivers a consistent and engaging value proposition to people buying 'for home' or for their small business.

The role is a crucial part of the Retail Commercial team and will work shoulder to shoulder with the Retail Sales team in delivering our commercial aspirations.

Key Responsibility areas:

Retail Market Understanding
- Work with the Retail Sales team to fully understand the Retail landscape in the UK; understand individual Retailer propositions and strategies; stay abreast on retail trends and demonstrate credibility in retail conversations.
- Understand the Consumer and SB PC Market. Maintain a good knowledge of the market dynamics; trends over time; evolution of price band and form factor segments and be aware of competitor performance as well as our own.
- Understand shopping habits in Retail - on line and off line, and monitor for key trends that can inform our longer term strategy. Use external sources of information as well as shared data from Retailers and Partners to inform Marketing Strategy.
- Be familiar and comfortable with GFK data and other sources of useful Retail info/insight.

Marketing Plan development
- Develop a Retail Marketing plan that sits at the heart of our Retail Commercial plan and which supports delivery of our RUM objectives - short term and long term.
- Ensure that full visibility is maintained of the wider Consumer and SB strategy and feed in to Strategy development discussion when appropriate.
- Develop clear and effective plans with all core retailers to help drive sell out, and give confidence to support sell-in.
- Work with the Gaming team to develop a clear Retail plan which supports AW RUM delivery, and which compliments the wider CSB commercials.
- Develop and put in place a coherent Field Marketing solution to drive our in store recommendation, improve in store visibility and merchandising.
- Work with Retail Category Manager and Merchandising team to ensure consistency of pricing and promotional strategy across Direct platforms and retail.
- Work with relevant Distribution partners where necessary to drive effective Marketing planning and activity.

Activity Execution
- Execute all planned activity on time, in full and to a high level of quality.
- Manage and motivate all agencies to keep activity execution on track. Demand high quality, cost effective service and review regularly.
- Maintain detailed project plans to ensure delivery.
- Manage regular project planning and update meetings to monitor and drive progress.
- Hold regular all agency meetings to ensure cross fertilisation of ideas, clear and open communication, clarity on roles and responsibilities and timely execution.
- Continually strive to deliver new and innovative ways to connect with our target audience through Retail, particularly on line.
- Maintain a strong understanding of modern, 'next generation' consumer Marketing techniques and invest a proportion of budget in a 'test and try' mentality that leads to new opportunities to grow the business.
- Build strong links with peer teams in CSB 9 and the Global CSB team to ensure that best practices are shared.
