Looking for a Finance System Support Officer to work with a public sector client.

Job Title: Finance System Support Officer

Duration: 2 Months

Location: Cardiff

Day Rate: Negotiable

JOB PURPOSE:

  • The post holder's primary duties will be to support the use of the Oracle Projects Module within the Oracle EBS Financial system for the financial management of research grants and contracts and services projects. The post holder will also provide advice, guidance, training and support on Oracle Projects; liaising as required with other internal teams.

  • The post holder will work as part of the Research Grants Office team within RIS.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA (maximum of 10)

1. Degree/NVQ 4 or equivalent Professional membership in a financial and project management discipline/experience in a financial administration role.

2. Substantial experience and knowledge of Oracle EBS and/or equivalent.

3. Excellent IT Skills including Microsoft Excel.

4. Demonstrable experience of utilising a range of financial packages for developing and maintaining complex corporate reports and providing technical support including troubleshooting and problem resolution at report level.

5. Ability to communicate conceptually detailed and complex information effectively and professionally with a wide range of people, including excellent presentational skills, with the ability to convey information to a non-specialist audience through clear and accessible formats.

6. Able to document business processes in a logical and clear framework that can be readily understood by others.

7. Excellent and proven relationship management skills with experience of managing the requirements of stakeholders.

8. Evidence of ability to explore customers' needs including active participation within teams and groups to adapt the service accordingly to ensure a quality service is delivered.

9. Evidence of ability to solve expansive problems using initiative and creativity; identifying and proposing practical solutions and resolving problems with range of potential outcomes.

10. Evidence of ability to work unsupervised to deadlines, planning and setting priorities for own work and that of others and monitoring progress.

DESIRABLE CRITERIA (If Appropriate)

1. Good understanding of Business Objects reporting tool.

2. Experience of working in a Higher Education environment.

3. Experience of working within project teams.

4. Fluency in Welsh, written and oral.
