3 x Sub Agent 6 month contract (may be extended) - Immediate Start Available

We are recruiting for one of the nation's largest commercial companies who provide an extensive range of construction services including construction management, general contracting, design and build and preconstruction. We are seeking skilled Sub Agents who are looking for long term temp positions with excellent rates of pay.

The role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, proactive Sub Agents to join our team in Norwich on a 6 month contract basis ( NB this may be extended Dependent of circumstances) As the successful candidates you will have experience in one of the following three skill sets.

Sub Agent - Utilities

Experience with utility diversions (electric, gas, BT, rising mains etc) and also foul drainage. (our preference for candidates with NRSWA Supervisor card).

Sub Agent - Structures/Roadwork's

We have a team looking after small structures (including precast culverts and bat bridges) as well as offsite junction improvements and highway signage.

Sub Agent - Side Roads

Good grounding in highways activities including drainage, ducting, sub-base, surfacing, road markings and road restraint.

Applicants should have great attention to detail and be able to carry out a variety of activities, you will be well versed in Civil engineering disciplines and ideally will have CSCS and SMSTS Cards.

Duties and requirements .

  • Appraise WPP and other safety documentation provided by teams and supply chain ensuring compliance with BMS and Legislation.
  • Carry out Regular Safety and Environmental Tours at intervals no less than set out in the Project Construction Phase Plan/Safety Tour rota, also Close out actions in a timely manner.
  • Cascade safety critical information to engineering and supervisory staff within their teams.
  • Lead/Review accident/Incident Investigations. Reviews and appraises findings and leads/directs the appropriate action arising (HFACS and Four Page Reports). Implements culture for change when required.

Health and safety and environmental

  • Appraising safety improvement options and leads action within Balfour Beatty and Supply Chain
  • Encouraging sub-ordinates and supply chain and operatives to raise observation cards.
  • Supporting the team Leader in ensuring legal and DCO compliance.
  • Supports the Team Leader in improvement initiatives in Environmental and Sustainability
  • Supports Team in Considerate Constructor Scheme.

Engineering Control

  • Guides & coaches subordinates in technical requirements and techniques of setting out
  • Guides and coaches subordinates in resolution of construction issues, drawing on experience and Accepted industry best practice

Quality

  • Accountable for Quality performance and Ensures Quality Champion within team produces ITP's and check sheets are produced and approved. Ensures team adhere to ITP.
  • Accountable for the collation of handover documentation.
  • Monitor KPI's in line with Project objectives
  • Work with Team Leader to deliver right first time culture.

Productivity

  • Follows stage programmes. Targeting betterment.
  • Accountable for the team's production of Weekly Work Plans and As Built data, reviewing and challenging outputs in line with target programme.
  • Makes sure KPI data is collated and issued.
  • Chairs Daily Management Meetings and provides output to team leader to who takes output to daily review meeting
  • Attendance at Daily Review Meetings in lieu of team leader when unavailable.
  • Attends Weekly Team Meeting cascading outputs from other meetings as appropriate
  • Chairs weekly supply chain meetings
  • Attends weekly planning meetings and works collaboratively.
  • Makes sure all team buy in to lean philosophy.
