PROFILE
We are currently recruiting for a Finance Analyst who is working towards their ACA, ACCA or CIMA with significant "on the job" accounting experience. The role holder is responsible for undertaking key control activities to help to ensure that the Finance function continues to maintain a robust financial control framework. Specific activities will include day-to-day management and control of corporate cashbooks and other balance sheet accounts.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Monitor and action requests relating to Pooled client base. This includes updating client fee rate changes, adding new clients and arrangements, raising final invoices and dealing with client specific queries.
- Liaising with Client Relationship Teams and Client Relationship Managers to ensure any changes to policies are implemented in a timely and efficient manner.
- To prepare and calculate the monthly revenue invoices that cannot be produced via the automated system in a timely manner in accordance with the IMA's ensuring accuracy.
- Maintain and develop processes to ensure that the month end accruals calculations undertaken accurately and efficiently in line with
- Assist in the preparation of ad hoc work to investigate and address issues raised by Client Relationship Managers.
- Assist in the preparation of ad hoc work to investigate and address identified financial control issues and emerging trends.
- Ensure that procedure manuals are kept up to date and accurately reflect current processes.
- Support the finance manager with any new responsibilities that may emerge.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Studying ACA, ACCA or CIMA with significant "on the job" accounting experience.
KNOWLEDGE
- The application of key accounting principals including double entry bookkeeping and the concept of accruals is key to this role. The jobholder must therefore either be working towards an appropriate accountancy qualification or have significant on-the-job experience with a Finance environment.
IT Skills
Good knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and Word is required for this role. The role holder will be expected to develop knowledge of SUN, Vision.
Communication Skills
This role requires the jobholder to interact with stakeholders across our business and the wider Group, and with external customers. The jobholder should therefore have strong written and verbal communication skills.
Team Player
The jobholder should show a willingness to openly share views and findings with other team members and a desire to take an active role in team meetings and discussions with management.
Tolerance of Pressure
Particularly during the busy month-end period, the jobholder will be required to manage a variety of different deliverables concurrently. The ability to cope with periods of high pressure is therefore a key skill for this role.
Initiative
The jobholder should be able to work independently to develop and enhance processes and to identify, investigate and resolve issues.
Strong motivation
The jobholder should show a willingness and desire to surpass expectations and to proactively expand their knowledge.
Numeracy
Strong numeracy skills are a key requirement of this role, and the role holder should be comfortable with key financial concepts and able to accurately handle volumes of financial data, manipulate the data for use in other financial or operational processes.
