At A Glance

We are looking for a "TEST STRATEGY ADVISOR" to start ASAP a 70 days contract (initial) in LUXEMBOURG supporting an EU-agency-client (EN-speaking environment). Extensions are possible!
TASKS: Test lead consultant to conduct a study with the aim of reviewing and proposing improvements of customer IT's general testing strategy/approach.
For the moment no bank-wide testing tools exists, other than the use of Remedy/BMC for capturing and managing the defects/tickets. The customer currently has no overarching testing approach/procedures encompassing the full spectrum of functional and non-functional requirements in a consistent manner. The candidate must have significant experience in the implementation of a testing strategy and testing factory as well. Propose a roadmap, which will define a phased roll-out of the proposed improvements/next steps in increasing the customer's test maturity. Business background
The customer currently has no overarching testing approach/procedures encompassing the full spectrum of functional and non-functional requirements in a consistent manner.
The coverage and comprehensiveness of these testing activities very often depend on the project manager and/or application teams.
Customer's current IT landscape consists of a mix of package applications (PeopleSoft, WallStreet Systems, etc.) and In-house applications (Serapis, PiRat, etc.) built on technologies such as Java and Drupal.
For the moment no bank-wide testing tools exists, other than the use of Remedy/BMC for capturing and managing the defects/tickets.

Main objective:
Conduct a study with the aim to identify action items for the improvement of customer's general testing strategy/approach of IT projects, which includes proposals in terms of overall organisation, staffing, tooling and ownership for both functional and non-functional testing.

Tasks & Deliverables:
Analyze and document the current way of managing tests within IT (As-Is)/Test Maturity.
Make pragmatic proposals for improvements in the following areas:
Overall test framework/approach
Governance/Ownership
Overall organization
Staffing
Environments
Tooling
Propose a roadmap, which will define a phased roll-out of the proposed improvements/next steps in increasing the customer's test maturity.
The first two tasks should be completed by 22/06/17, while the last by 14/07/17 (tbd).
Project steering:
The Programm will run under the IT Management Office (ITMO) Head of Division and Head of Transversal Project Management Unit's leadership.
A Steering Committee will take place towards the end of the study phase mainly composed of IT Senior Management.
Frequently (fortnightly) meetings with key stakeholders.
