Senior Pensions Administrator - Global Oil and Gas co.

World Leading Global Energy Oil Company has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Pensions Administrator to join their team in London.

About the Role:

To provide confidential complex pension calculations to individuals who are members of the Company's Pension Plan.
To provide confidential pension calculations for members leaving with an ill health pension.
To handle queries complex retirements where benefits exceed the lifetime allowance, including tax calculations where applicable.
To provide severance estimates to authorised personnel with associated information and guidance to individuals, Line and HR for members who are leaving the organisation.
To calculate and prepare payments for ex-gratia lump sums and provide appropriate foreign service information to taxation for members entitled to an immediate pension.
To answer queries and provide calculations for scheme pays requests for when Annual Allowance input has been exceeded.
To be part of the rota for presenting pensions information at the financial planning seminars for employed members around the UK.
To take a lead on projects such as Sharepoint, Records Management and ensure PAU Process guidance notes are kept up to date.
To provide support to the PAU Manager when required.
To authorise cases in the pensions system (Compendia) for other Administrators who will be based in Krakow.
To ensure authorisation for cases are requested from the Pensions Advisory Manager.
To request any changes within Compendia required to the Equiniti team (pension system IT support) and undertake the appropriate testing to ensure the pensions documentation and calculations provided through Compendia are kept up to date and accurate.
To be focal point for Death in Service cases which requires advice to HR and the Line Managers.
Bi-monthly AVC authorisation
Respond to complex AVC queries

Key Challenges:

Develop knowledge on all the company's Pension Funds within the UK.
Develop knowledge on pension legislation and taxation and keep abreast of new legislation/tax rules and how these changes affect the company's UK pension funds and current pension advisory and retirement processes.
Assist with the implementation of changes to pension administration processes.
Assist with the completion of transferring PAU documents to the Sharepoint site.

About You:

Educated to A level standard or higher
Preferably holds a pension administration qualification ie QPA
Advanced technical knowledge of defined benefit pension schemes and UK pensions legislation
Advanced technical knowledge of UK pensions tax legislation applicable for DB schemes
Experience of processing and authorising pension calculations
Experience of pension administration systems, Compendia being a distinct advantage
Experience and knowledge of the severance policy
Strong mathematical skills are essential for this role

This needs combining with a positive attitude and an ability to work within a large, globally dispersed project team in a multi-cultural environment. You also need to be a self-starter, a logical thinker and a quick learner, with strong initiative and excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, able to write clearly and concisely.
