Financial Analyst
Description:

Assists and supports Finance Management and/or more senior Financial Analyst.

Accountable for coordination, compilation and distribution of financial data.
-
Provides financial analysis as needed within defined parameters.
-
May participate in planning and development of budgets and monitoring of expenses.
-
Manages and analyzes monetary resources and affairs within an organization.
-
May also be responsible for conducting technical accounting research as needed.
-
Prepares and maintains supporting documentation for monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
-
Updates and collects business unit reporting packages, helps prepare ad hoc financial reporting as necessary.
Daily responsibilities:
-
Monitors policies and procedures related to financial management and budget systems and related automated systems.

Works under general guidance, accountable to complete budget analysis.
-
Recommends modifications of established practices and procedures to successfully handle a full range of routine and non-routine assignments and projects.

Accountable for complete, accurate and timely work.
-
Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with other departments.
-
Communicates projects/studies of moderate scope as directed by Finance Team.
-
Conducts budget variance analyses utilizing financial sources as available.
-
Coordinates and distributes budget monitoring information among Medical Center Administrations.

Provides statistical analysis on spreadsheet and graphical formats, utilizing computer-based programming (FOCUS, Data Warehouse, CMIS) and other systems for presentation on analysis of financial reports.
Requirements:

Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to work with diverse groups of internal clients.

BA in Finance or Accounting required plus 3+ years of direct relevant experience.

Need an Excel expert, someone who knows how to do pivot tables, index matching and work with large files and someone that has SQL knowledge to pull reports.

Strong knowledge of financial analysis and accepted accounting principles.

Must have a working knowledge of finance theories such as present value theory/cash flow analysis.

Must demonstrate the ability to apply these tools and principles with direction from senior staff only on more complex analyses.

Demonstrated knowledge of different budgeting techniques and related analytical tools.

Knowledge of advanced spreadsheet functions (including graphics and macros).

Knowledge of the functions and data available in EIS, FDRS and CMIS as well as other host-based systems.

Ability to formulate study designs and conduct professional analyses.
-
Able to perform special studies/projects of moderate scope, which require independent development of some innovative analytical approaches to resolve issues related to financial management and/or automated systems.
