Flight Systems Support Engineer

A Flight Systems Support Engineer with a broad knowledge of aircraft systems and integration is required to work on a twelve month contract (WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF EXTENSION) for our Defence client based in Lancashire

This is an opportunity to work for a Large Successful Military Aircraft Organisation.

Overview of the Flight Systems Support Engineer contract role

We have a new contract vacancy for a Flight Systems Support Engineer based in Lancashire.

The jobholder will need specialist knowledge and technical expertise in the Technical Support of Flight Systems that involves identifying and implementing improvement initiatives that will reduce the though life costs of the system relating to Fuel, Electrical Power Generation and Environmental Control Systems.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be required to perform tasks suitable to the internal level of this role.

The role will contain, but will not be limited to, the following;

  • Identify and implement improvement initiatives that will reduce the though life costs of the system for Fuel, Electrical Power Generation and Environmental Control Systems
  • Provide a back up to the System Lead to answer Engineering Support Demands (Technical Queries when necessary during periods of exceptional demand.
  • Investigate the cause of the Technical queries and put actions in place to prevent re-occurrence.
  • Ensure any follow on actions to engineering Support Demands are defined, have owners and actions are followed up.
  • Understand how the customer uses the System and propose and implement solutions to improve efficiency, reduce operating costs and/or customer satisfaction

Key skills required for the Flight Systems Support Engineer

  • A good communicator, both to impart information and ensure received information is properly understood.
  • Have a broad knowledge of aircraft systems and integration, or willingness to expand knowledge.
  • Able to analyse problems and suggest appropriate solutions. Able to manage workload to ensure the customer and business needs are met. Able to develop close working relationships with personnel who are crucial to the delivery of improvement plans.
  • Will be highly self-motivated individual with tenacity and attention to detail. The individual must be comfortable dealing with engineering contacts internally, in partner companies and within the Customer Nations.

The role is based in Lancashire - commutable from Preston, Blackpool, Chorley, Leyland, Blackburn, Darwen, Burnley, Skipton, Stockport, Manchester, Warrington, Wigan, Bolton, Bury, Rochdale and Oldham with excellent access from Liverpool, Lancaster and Leeds.
