Quality Manufacturing Engineer

A Quality Manufacturing Engineer is required to work on a twelve month contract (with the possibility of extension) for our Defence client based in Crewe.

This is a 12 month contract working with a leading UK defence company.

Overview of the Quality Manufacturing Engineer contract role

You will be required to conduct audits, including closing out audit findings, creating audit reports and determining proper remedial corrective and preventative actions. You will also be responsible for the analysis of failure modes and the development and implementation of corrective and preventative actions, Interface with Engineering and Operations teams to ensure product manufacturing data is in accordance with standards and specifications.

Key skills required for the Quality Manufacturing Engineer

  • HND level qualification in either a quality or engineering discipline.
  • Kaizen, SMED, 5S and other lean manufacturing techniques experience.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to persuade and influence people.
  • Membership of the Chartered Quality Institute or willingness to work towards achieving membership.
  • Computer literacy (database, spreadsheet, word processing).
  • Experience in a quality environment.
  • A basic understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and the ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Internal Auditor Qualifications to ISO 9001:2008 desirable but not essential.
  • Proven ability to work within and lead a team.
