M&E Project Engineer - 8 Month Temporary Contract - Immediate Start

We are recruiting for one of the nation's largest commercial companies who provide an extensive range of construction services including construction management, general contracting, design and build and preconstruction.

The Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Electrical & Permit Engineers to join our Commissioning team on an 8 month contract based in Cumbria. As the successful candidate you will work within a Nuclear project and ensure that the issue of Permit to Works (WSC 90) is in accordance with Project practices.

Key Requirements

  • Promote a positive health and safety culture within the permit team
  • Ensure that the issuance of Permit to Works (WSC 90) is in accordance with project practices
  • Commissioning, operation and isolation of process plant and equipment
  • Supervision or the execution of functional testing
  • Install simple and intrusive isolations
  • Carry out initial energisations
  • Specify and peer review isolation and re-energisation procedures
  • Execute independent verification of isolations
  • Participate in stakeholder meetings and support completion of risk assessments
  • Highlighting areas of hazards, concern, faults or problems via a line manager

Maintain excellent relationships with all parties

  • To safely execute duties
  • Ensuring that commissioning work allocated is supervised checked and accepted.
  • Input to the production of requests for permit office services, risk assessments and SSOW.
  • Achieve Nomination status
  • Custodian of transfer certificates.

You

  • Ideally a minimum of 2 years post apprenticeship experience in a relevant trade
  • Ideally held a permit engineers role for in excess of 1 year on a nuclear licensed site.
  • Nominated person and trained in WSC90 SSOW & isolation process
  • IT literate
  • Good command of written and spoken English
