Settlements Trade Operations SWIFT Settlements Analyst Reconciliation

Our client is one of the world's leading Asset/Investment Managers. A temporary opportunity on an initial 8-month contractual basis has arisen for a Trade operations Settlements Analyst.

THE ROLE:

Trade Ops is responsible for the post execution process of Confirmation & Settlement & also provides key support to Claims, Class Actions, trade related cash & stock reconciliations & other activity across a wide range of products & markets.

As part of EMEA Settlements, this role involves investigating failing trades and pre-matching issues with brokers, custodians and internal departments in accordance with market deadlines and internal procedures & working to pre-empt potential issues, wherever possible, working to reduce market claims and protect against financial & reputational risk.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Settlement of a wide variety of transactions with more than 100 Custodian relationships.
Ensure internal systems are updated to record status of any ongoing investigations.
Ad hoc queries and project work.
Take an active part in the various integration activities that the group is involved with.
Actively review business processes to ensure that efficiencies are maximised whilst maintaining a rigorous level of control.
Investigating & the resolving Interest claims & stock/cash reconciliation breaks.
Produce & distribute departmental MIS.
Work with the Portfolio Management Group to understand what operational requirements they have and ensure that these are reflected in the appropriate systems
Building the existing One Team' ethos within the firm by working closely with colleagues in other regions

SKILLS REQUIRED:

Experience of working in a settlements department in an Investment Management, Custodian, Investment Bank or similar environment.
Expert knowledge of the International Settlement (Equity & Fixed Income) and current market practice.
Good knowledge of SWIFT message formats.
Good organisational/time management skills.
Experience of working to tight deadline's in a fast-paced environment.
Good knowledge of Word and Excel
