Electrical Engineering Manager (Shipbuilding/Heavy Engineering)
An Electrical Engineering Manager preferably with shipbuilding or heavy engineering experience is required to work on a six month contract (with the possibility of extension) for our Defence client based in Scotstoun.
This is a 6 month contract working for a leading UK defence company.
Overview of the Electrical Engineering Manager contract role
Provide engineering and management expertise to the delivery of projects/programmes that are likely to have a value in excess of millions of pounds and have a significant headcount. Manage the engineering resource for such projects including the delivery of engineering work and services using typically an Integrated Project Team comprising of members of many disciplines where multiple interfaces with customers and suppliers
Key skills required for the Electrical Engineering Manager
- Extensive experience of managing Design/Detail Design effort or equivalent experience in a heavy industrial/marine environment
- Man management experience
- Previous experience on other projects of complexity (new build)
- Experienced in Life Cycle Management reviews of bids and programmes.
- Ability to operate in a large, complex project at engineering management level in a multidisciplinary, Matrix management environment.
- Knowledge and experience in use of ship design processes and systems to LCM guidelines
- Extensive knowledge of Project Management techniques (EV,CPI,SPI, Risk etc)
- Technical knowledge and problem solving.
The role is based at Scotstoun in Glasgow - Commutable from Kilmarnock, Paisley, Greenock, Stirling and Falkirk with excellent access from Edinburgh.
