Payroll Specialist/Cork, Ireland/12 Months Contract/19 to 25 EUR (Per Hour)

The Payroll Specialist role is part of a country wide team responsible for the delivery of an accurate and timely payroll for all J&J companies in Ireland. The role will have responsibility for processing a full in house payroll for a number of Legal entities using Megapay payroll software. Working closely with the HR Operations team the specialist role will be involved in a shared service model for payroll delivery in Ireland for Johnson & Johnson.

GENERAL SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

Payroll processing/controls

  • Processing of country payroll for Johnson &Johnson Employees using Megapay payroll software.
  • Collaboration with HR Shared Services and other functions to ensure consistent accurate flow of information and received within payroll deadlines for processing. To process an accurate, timely and compliant payroll.
  • Detailed knowledge of PAYE, PRSI, USC, BIK, Shares, ROS, EFT, CSO and Tax Submissions.
  • Ensuring month and year end payroll returns are complete, accurate and submitted to Revenue, in a timely manner.
  • Ensuring general ledger files are created and submitted to Finance in a timely manner.
  • Maintain all payroll records as required by revenue and J&J Data Retention Records
  • Provide support with ongoing tax, financial and PWC audits.
  • Processing Ex-Pat assignments setting up deductions according to contract, coordinating the calculation of hypo-tax etc
  • Accounting for Shared Based Compensation - RSU taxable elements
  • Implementation of strong internal controls in the Payroll department area to ensure best practice established.
  • Interface with both internal and external audit in ensuring high quality payroll service.
  • Ensure Sarbanes Oxley Requirements are met- SOPs and DCM's and Testscripts for Payroll and testing effort for these areas as required. Sufficient controls in place and implemented to capture changes month on month and any differences reconciled and explained. Working with internal and external audit to ensure the integrity of payroll information.
  • Manage payroll inbox and shared service calls and queries in a timely manner.
  • Ensure a consistent focus and involvement in driving efficiencies and process improvements.
  • Create and maintain control documentation, process flows and procedures.
  • May perform any other duties as assigned

COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

  • Minimum 2 years, experience of payroll processing
  • IPASS or Equivalent Finance Qualification.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and customer focused
  • Experience of working in a multi-national environment.
  • Excellent computer skills including Excel and Outlook.
  • Excellent attention to detail to ensure every employee is paid correctly and on time
  • Excellent time management skills
  • An effective team player, with developed communication and negotiation skills to focus on building and maintaining strong relationships with the Payroll process stakeholders
  • A clear, fast thinker, problem solver, able to translate business needs into pragmatic solutions and implement them
  • Able to work effectively in a multi-functional, multi-cultural environment and be open to change and the challenges that arise in a fast-moving environment
  • Excellent analytical skills, including account reconciliation and problem solving ability
  • Ability to work efficiently and productively, independently or with minimal supervision.
