SHE Advisor

A SHE Advisor is required to work on a six month contract (with the possibility of extension) for our Defence client based in Cumbria.

This is a 6 month contract working with a leading UK defence company.

Overview of the SHE Advisor contract role

You will be required to provide SHE governance to construction activities, technical information, support and guidance with all assessments to the business as required, as well as to assist in the development and embedding of an improving safety culture across all areas of the submarines business. You will also be required to assist in the development, writing, verification and deployment of all SHE documentation.

Key skills required for the SHE Advisor

  • Studying for or have a NEBOSH diploma or equivalent to NVQ level 6.
  • NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent NVQ level 4.
  • IEMA certificate is desirable.
  • Audit qualification in 14001 or 18001 lead auditor status is preferable.
  • Experience of safety in an engineering environment.
  • Experience of safety in a construction environment.
  • Experience of delivering education and training.
  • Experience in dealing with trade unions and regulators.

The role is based in Barrow in Furness, Cumbria - commutable from Carnforth, Milnthorpe, Lancaster, Morecambe, Penrith, Workington, Whitehaven and The Lake District
