Description
We are looking for a OpenSource QGIS Specialist on an initial 1 month contract in Rome
Duties and responsibilities
Under the supervision of the ICT Solutions Coordinator, ICT, and the project manager, the incumbent will support ICT in the following tasks:
Develop a proof of concept based on but not restricted to QGis and QGis Server that allows Back End management of Geo Data at Region, Country and Project level and Front End integration with any existing or new portal.
Develop project level mapping
Any other duties related to FIS functionality as required
Qualification and experience
Proven experience in the area with at least 3 years of work experience in GeoData or related is required.
Proven experience in QGis and QGis server at advanced user level.
-Proven Experience of Geonode
Strong understanding and experience in the development landscape and agriculture, in line with IFAD's mandate
Experience of both designing and executing GIS solutions from business requirements.
Experience on integrating GIS datasources with metadata datasources.
Ability to effectively document such projects for enabling corporate adoption and process discipline.
Good skills for map production and presentation;
