A leading British charity is seeking a Organisational Design Lead too lead the design for Fundraising, Marketing and Communications (FMC) across the organisation.

About the Organisational Design Lead role:

The role holder will be working with the FMC leadership team to assess the current state and create a future state for the directorate, ensuring the design aligns with the overall Target Operating Model. The organisational design lead will lead the wider design team and ensure consistent application of organisation design principles and methodologies firm wide.

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Engage and facilitate FMC leadership, stakeholders and key process owners to evaluate current structures, processes and ways of working, seeking input from cross organisational leadership and functional specialists. Assess complexities, duplication's,gaps and inefficiencies

  • Work with organisation design specialists and change leaders in the organisation to identify FMC interdependence and develop plans to address these

  • Propose and assess recommendations for design, seeking input from stakeholders and working with Finance and HR to ensure cost neutrality of proposals and people implications of change are understood and reflected in project plans

  • Advise project teams on planning and implementation of design, amending and revising future state design in light of implementation issues and organisational priorities

  • Work with Strategic Communications on communication and engagement plans and contribute to content throughout the project

  • To lead on specific workstreams as part of FMC's Future Project, working on organisation assessment, organisation design, and workstream implementation

Key skill set required:

  • Experience of leading organisation design within a function

  • Knowledge of the connections between people, processes and systems in driving organisational effectiveness

  • Ability to engage with and challenge senior leaders around purpose, principles and benefits of change

  • Experience of working in a Matrix management environment and within multi-disciplinary teams

  • Substantial experience of building and managing effective client relationships and stakeholder engagement

  • Innovative with proven ability to develop flexible approaches appropriate to the organisational context
  • Knowledge and understanding of project management

  • Demonstrable experience of assessing and aligning complex marketing and communications and fundraising processes within a large organisation
