IT PROJECT MANAGER - CONTRACT - IRAQTHE ROLE
The Project Manager (PM) will be required to work with various implementation groups to deliver IT projects, cutting across Networks, Field Digital Infrastructure, BackOffice, Applications and Service Desk teams.
The role is key to ITC success and requires an individual who can manage large and complex projects while providing leadership, multi-tasking skills and a broad understanding of IT.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Work with Stakeholders to ensure project scope and specifications are aligned to the overall ITC strategy, philosophy and field design.
- Co-ordinate scoping work, market strategy, supplier selection and delivery of projects.
- Work with key stakeholders to produce SoW and SoR's (Statement of Requirements and Statement of Works).
- Follows PSCM process for vendor engagement: RFI, RFP and RFQ.
- Put appropriate governance in place, contractually, internally within ITC and as part of execution to help ensure that the priorities and standards are met.
- Work with various implementation groups to implement technical solutions and services to agreed standards
- Leverage and apply stage gate methodology as appropriate in service of delivering project targets and develop stage gate deliverables at appropriate stage gates
- Establish formal and informal project governance mechanisms.
- Identify constructive interventions where necessary to keep projects on track and facilitate or make those interventions appropriately and effectively.
- Assure that project milestones/targets are clearly communicated understood within and outside the project such that the appropriate parties can marshal resources and activities to align with project delivery.
- Record and report project progress as agreed with line management and stakeholders.
- Forecast outcomes and translate them into likely financial forecasts ensuring.
Essential:
- Relevant PM accreditation (eg PMP, PRINCE 2 Practitioner), 3 years' minimum
- ITIL Foundations, 3 years' minimum
- Experience of putting in place specifications and contractual terms and conditions for execution of IT activity in an Oil and Gas or Utilities environment.
- Good understanding of the Oil and Gas IT landscape and standards associated with design and construction.
- Experience managing procurement process, going to market through RFI and RFP processes and ensuring the structure, governance and service levels required for the IT service/solution are provided for in the RFP.
- Excellent record of Stakeholder Management
- Strong business awareness
- Experience of working in a major project environment preferred with multiple locations and geographies, rotating users etc.
- Good inter personal skills, experience of following standard project delivery methodology, setting up appropriate governance and ensuring that change is managed.
- Experience of putting in place Early Life Support and on-going support model to ensure users are well supported during the early life of the project and have a clear model to receive support on an on-going basis.
- Core competence in Planning, Cost Estimating, Risk Management, Performance Management, Quality & Delivery Assurance.
- Experience of IT infrastructure and enabling technologies, 3 years minimum.
- A successful record of project delivery
- English speaker
- Ability to assess integrity and appropriateness of potential IT solutions.
- University level education preferably in Engineering/IT or related discipline.
- Significant experience in a similar role in an oil/gas company
- Thorough knowledge of CVP (or alternate stage gate decision process) and underlying project methodologies
- Bilingual (English and Arabic), written & oral.
