Sopra Steria is currently recruiting for experienced Senior SAS Consultantsto join one of their key financial project teams, based on client site, in Manchester.
Essential Skills:
A SAS Consultant, with up to between 5 and 8 years' experience in developing SAS solutions.
Responsibilities/Accountabilities
As a Senior SAS consultant, your task will be to lead the delivery of SAS solutions, creating SAS projects using using Enterprise Guide, Base SAS, SAS Macros and other SAS products as per requirements of the client, the project manager or the technical lead. You will be highly proficient in SAS, and stakeholder management skills.
You will also be responsible for sharing your knowledge with colleagues, and developing junior staff working with you on site.
Levels of experience: Up to 5-8 years solid SAS experience.
Job Specific Qualifications
Base SAS Certification
Other SAS certifications would be an advantage
University Degree
Essential Skills Experience and Knowledge
Highly Proficient in Base SAS, SAS Macros PROC SQL and SAS Enterprise Guide
Experienced in general SQL use
Exposure to underlying databases eg, Oracle or Microsoft
Design of ETL and reporting solutions
Ability to create end to end solutions, and lead on implementation.
Understands data integration and management principles
Able to translate complex Business requirements into technical design
Able to manage your own time, delivering as per project/technical lead requirements.
Provide guidance/coach graduate consultants.
Good documentation skills
Good understanding of version control methodologies
Understanding of the development life cycle
Able to implement best practices for projects you are leading on
Support of the project manager
Advising the project manager on expected timelines for project delivery
Unix Scripting
Understanding of Relational Database principals
Involvement in all parts of a project's development life cycle
Experience of how to optimise SAS processes, especially with more experienced consultants.
Having worked with large volumes of data.
Strong Excel skills, including VBA knowledge
Ability to assimilate business requirements
Understanding of business process improvements
Ability to represent processes as process flow or swim lane diagrams
Definition of testing scenarios
Testing skills
Desirable Skills Experience and Knowledge
SAS DI Studio
SAS Visual Analytics
Subject matter expertise in Finance, Insurance, Credit Risk or Customer/Marketing analytics.
