Description
Currently seeking an experienced Senior Data Analyst, with strong knowledge of Big Data, Cloud and ETL / Data Warehousing in a digital innovation environment. As the Senior Data Analyst you will join our retail client based in London on a new project to help provision valuable business data to the Data Platform. You will work closely with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and Products Owners across multiple areas of the business to translate business requirements into usable data that is accurate, up-to-date, and provides valuable insights.
For this specific project you will be tasked with the following;
- Responsible for the quality and timeliness of output from a scrum team of Data Analysts and Data Engineers to design and develop ETL functionality to bring data into the Data Platform and transform it into the required structures to satisfy the need of the platform's consuming business users
- Analyse data sources and identify gaps between non-technical business requirements and technical realities
- Evaluate and specify necessary transformation logic, business logic, and preparation to support needs of business
- Capture business data quality rules and data cleansing rules
- Validate the process metadata and row level traceability captured in a metadata hub
- Document any open bugs and other useful information into a data dictionary
- Build a network of contacts in the business, and learn something new about the business every day
- Help the business understand the possibilities and issues with data
As the successful Senior Data Analyst you will encompass the following;
- Setting a strong example of quality output for teams of Data Analysts and Engineers
- Agile backlog and sprint management including estimation, backlog management, sprint planning, sprint reviews
- Technology experience across; Big Data, Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, ETL, Data Quality tools, SQL, Data Modelling tools, Teradata, JIRA, Confluence
- Data warehousing delivery experience and expertise
- Translating data requirements between business teams and technical teams
- Building relationships with people and getting things done in a large organisation
- Exploring, modelling, and transforming data
- Test data creation
