Fixed Asset Analyst

A Leading Oil and Gas business are looking to hire an experienced Fixed Asset Analyst to work in their Milton Keynes Office

The Fixed Asset Analyst will lead a project
1) to verify the firm's fixed asset register (FAR) in the UK
2) to embed a robust and sustainable fixed asset verification process ensuring that reported assets are a true reflection of the physical assets held.

Working closely with the UK & Global Business Services Finance teams, as well as engaging with Joint Venture, Supply and Technical subject matter experts, the successful applicant will carry out a deep dive into the fixed asset register using all available data sources, verifying against physical assets, and clearly identifying any gaps allowing management to make decisions, and ultimately giving confidence in the integrity of fixed asset position on the balance sheet.
In addition they will develop and implement a verification process that will give continued assurance that the business is reporting accurately.

Key accountabilities
- Fixed Assets include land, buildings, depots, pipelines, plant, machinery & equipment, vehicles and assets under construction.
- Design fixed asset verification process and template.
- Create and launch a detailed project plan with clear prioritisation of activities, ensuring that all stakeholders are engaged and aligned.
- Retrieval of electronic and physical archived documents in order to deep dive and verify all items on the fixed asset register (FAR) (2600+ line items across 300+ cost centres).
- Obtain physical verification of assets, either remotely or, if necessary, in person
- Maintain clear record of assets that cannot be verified and make recommendations for treatment.
- Improve structure of FAR to make it more manageable for future verifications, eg by consolidating individual line item spends and attributing to physical assets.
- Liaising with Continuous Improvement team to develop and implement a robust verification process that will give continued assurance that the business is reporting accurately and assisting future verification.

Essential Education
Accounting, Finance or Business Degree/3-year Diploma (Accounting, Finance or Business), or similar level of Accounting experience

Essential experience and job requirements
1- Good communication skills with an ability to develop close working relationships across different areas of the business.
2- Self-motivated with the ability to work both collaboratively and independently
3- Ability to prioritise and proven effective time management
4- Proven ability to investigate and solve problems with attention to detail
5- SAP Fixed Assets module experience
6- Previous Fixed Asset reconciliation experience
7- Good Excel, Powerpoint & Word
