***MANUAL TESTER / C# / SOLID UNDERSTANDING OF UAT / ISEB OR ISTQB QUALIFIED / MICROSOFT TEST MANAGER EXP / AGILE EXP PREFERRED BUT NOT ESSENTIAL***My client, a market leading organisation, operating within the Financial sector, urgently require an experienced functional tester to join them on a time critical, minimum 6 month contract (extension/s very likely) with an immediate start. Purpose & Objectives of the Role
This role is responsible for working in an agile environment, covering the functional testing, but also working with an automated tester
Make sure all test activities fit in to the scrum team sprint timescales
This role is accountable and answerable to the Platform Owner
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Review the business requirements to ensure they are Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant and Testable
Derive their test cases and scripts from the User Stories
Create test scenarios, cases and scripts to be used during execution
Ensure all test assets are held and managed within my clients selected Test Management tool
Identify and arrange any required test data
Co-ordinate the test execution activities. Along with managing the defect tracing process within the test management tool
Produce progress reports for the project and for senior management and are delivered within agreed project timelines including all data/statistics (i.e. test metrics)
Attend and contribute to any scrum team meetings to ensure thorough understanding of proposed functionality and its impacts
Liaise & work closely with the rest of the Platform test team
Continuously seek to improve ways of conducting testing in an Agile environment maximising efficiency and minimising costs
Recognise any changes necessary to existing business processes and assist the relevant project manager in ensuring the business are aware of the impact ahead of release, and have received the necessary education
Maintain knowledge of my clients core systems and current processes, as well as learning and understanding new applications as they are developed
Qualifications/Skills/Experience
Required:
Solid understanding of UAT and what is involved with delivering a quality service
Strong understanding of test methodologies and tools (Microsoft Test Manager preferable)
Very good communication skills, both written and verbal, in order to contribute to design discussions, interpret use cases and create comprehensive test plans and scripts which can be understood and approved by business stakeholders
An excellent team player who is able to build strong relationships across the companyfrom business analysts through to business stakeholders
Positive & adaptable and able to work under pressure in a continually changing environment
Outstanding time management skills with the tenacity to achieve tight deadlines
A highly organised analytical and logical mind-set with a focus on quality
A willingness to learn and implement testing approaches and methodologies
Agile experience preferred, although training will be provided
Qualifications in ISEB or ISTQB preferred
