Description

The Role

Managing The Credit Risk analyst team that is responsible for the successful delivery of significant projects that support the on-going work of the Credit Risk portfolio management teams. The team is also responsible for the reconciliation of specific regulatory projects as requested by the CCO/Chief Risk Officer.

Principal duties:

  • To Gather and document the requirements of the Credit Risk portfolio management teams in respect of the tactical and target operating models.
  • To Perform detailed analysis of these requirements and formulate interim and target operating model solutions with the Data Domain Team, the Business analytics team and the Financial analytics team as appropriate.
  • To Coach the existing analytics team members in best in class presentation techniques and tooling for MIS and reporting.
  • To be the technical lead within the team on the presentation layer for management information solutions
  • To Understand fully the credit implications of the portfolio analysis carried out by the portfolio management teams and ensure long term solutions are developed to support the business's ongoing portfolio quality reporting.
  • To Understand fully the credit constructs for the debtor, facility, collateral and application data model and assist in the development of short and long term solutions for tier 2 level data repositories
  • To Develop credit portfolio analysis solutions and reporting solutions that complement or enhance existing MI reporting.
  • To Ensure existing controls and reconciliations are designed or enhanced for the credit portfolio quality reports.
  • To Develop good working relationships with the Data domain Team, the Business Analytics Team and the Financial analytics team
  • Where identified, to champion potential improvements to the existing processes or solutions.

Qualifications, Skills & Competencies:

  • 3rd level qualification related to analytics, financial services or banking, with at least 5 years' experience.
  • Expert in data querying and modelling utilising SQL, pivot tools and must have knowledge or RDBMS (Terradata would be an advantage)
  • Expert in data presentation techniques and tooling with excel and power pivot an advantage.
  • Ability to think strategically when developing solutions ensuring the requirements of all stakeholders are considered.
  • Be familiar with financial systems and have a working knowledge of financial and accounting principles and practices applicable in the Banking/financial services sector.
  • Experience in project management in systems implementations/change management including definition and specification of business requirements and user acceptance testing.
  • Experience in the financial services sector, including banking and commercial lending, would be advantageous.
  • Experience in the development of data warehouses and business reporting tools.
  • Self-Starter with ability to work independently.
